THE NATURE OF GROUPS
About groups....they can be as powerful as individual counselling. There are some processes for which individual counselling is more suited. For example processing a specific traumatic event. However, for many the power of a group, of belonging, of journeying together, and of the isight of others who are on similar terrain can be incredibly healing in a way that is entirely unique to a group setting. Groups can take different forms, either psychoeducational (teaching skills etc), or process (the content that is brought by the unique members), or guided (creative activities and promoted discussions). The following groups take different formats and are geared towards different specific populations and age groups (e.g., refugees) . However, it would be possible to adapt the material to fit other settings and populations if requested.

GROUP THERAPY FOR DISPLACED POPULATIONS
For Refugees
This group therapy design is intended for high needs low resourced cross-cultural contexts, such as in a refugee camp, following ethnic or cultural persecution, or post-disaster. Its purpose is three-fold: to build and heal community, to promote an adaptive response to traumatic experience, and to foster growth. Using a creative, expressive arts and narrative approach while maintaining trauma safety.
FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE WILD
For Young Adults
This group is designed for young people struggling in their lives. This creative and narrative design takes a group of youth or young adults on a journey both figuratively and literally with the purpose of growth and healing. A journey of the body and the heart. An invitation to adventure.
